men in Wellbriety
The Warriors are Back.
The guidelines for the Men in Wellbriety.
Purpose:
In the old days, one of the tasks of the men was to make sure our camps were safe. The men were on the lookout for any enemies. The enemies knew the men were on the lookout. In many cases, the enemy would not even show up because of this.
As a result of the colonization process and what happened to many of the men in the boarding school, the intergenerational trauma process had an effect on the knowledge and responsibility of the men. Now, we are no longer passing on to the younger men what the responsibility and knowledge of what is an Indian man. The results of not having men involved in the raising of our children is shown in the following statistics:
We have entered a time of great healing. The women are forming the Wellbriety movement for women.
The Men must also enter into the healing and let the women know the warriors are back. We must let the enemies know….the warriors are back. We must let our communities know…the warriors are back.
The instructions for the Men in Wellbriety are:
Form a circle of 100 men, including your sons and nephews and the Elders. Once the circle starts, you have 9 months to gather the 100. It should not be bigger. Choose 4 Elders to guide the circle.
Whenever the circle meets, it should include the Elders, the men and their sons and nephews.

Please see below for ways to become involved in Men in Wellbriety.
1. The men should prepare a feast. The healthy men are to form a circle around the women and children and make an apology to the women. We must ask them for forgiveness for not being there for them We must apologize for not helping them with the children. We must make an apology for the violence and leaving the community in fear. The enemy has infiltrated our camps and the violence to the women and children in many cases is being done by our own.
